Spooky Day !

well  how spooky is this? today I went to a meeting in Oxford Circus and on the way back I met a friend that I had not seen for two years and they live in China I just bumped into them. What is more bizarre is that this is where I bumped into another friend around 6 months ago that I had not seen for a few years. What are the chances of doing that I ask myself ? millions to one but twice is unreal. Winning the lottery is around 6 million to one. Well I bought a lottery ticket on the way home just in case things come in threes!

I wore the highest spike heels that I have just because I love them, but I ought to know not to wear them when I have to walk anywhere and of course I fell over lock, stock and barrel. Thank heavens nobody   saw me and I came home sobbing all the way down the street, wearing sun glasses of course, no one wants to see make up running down any one’s face now do they?  With less than three weeks to go to Pure I had better learn how to walk properly and not cry when I can’t haha.

I am thinking maybe I should look at designing shoes we girls can walk in on gravel car parks as well as look taller than normal. So the weekend is upon us again and I am going to enjoy the sunshine, visit my son and family and wear flat shoes. I bought the most awesome clothes for my granddaughter from Top Shop, she is going to look like a little princess.

So thought for the day today has to be:

I have this theory that chocolate slows down the aging process…. It may not be true, but do I dare take the chance? A good glass of Chardonnay will help before, during or after eating the chocolate as well.

Big Hats !

I have never been to a Greek wedding and in over 40 degrees what was I thinking to wear a black dress and the biggest black hat you ever saw? pleeeeeease do not ask me. Anyway I am there in the heat with killer spikes heels and no stockings and therefore had to be surgically removed at 5am on Sunday morning. The bride looked stunning, so beautiful and she was wearing the most loveliest dress. The only problem was that in the church all the Brits had raced in to get the best seats (Of course – no towel throwing involved) but all the local aristocrats arrived fashionably late to find that their reserved seats had been taken by the Haringay boys and their Wags (me included). What did they do ? well they had the last laugh as they stood in front of us all, yes they actually stood up for one hour in the blazing heat in front of us. So not one Brit can say they saw the happy couple exchange rings, but we were all there in our best frocks (Me being the only one in black) and we all cheered at the end. Yianni please send us a copy of the DVD asap.

We all set off for the wedding breakfast at the most stunning picturesque place in the whole of Athens overlooking the sea. The wine flowed all night and the food (half a stone heavier today!!) and I had to spend all day in bed on Sunday due to not getting in until 5.30am. Housekeeping were not amused that they had to clean the room in the evening.(Sorry!) So now four days of Greek Salad at every meal time to loose the half stone I did not want in the first place. My hubby flew off to other lands today on a work mission and I miss him already, who is going to share the salad with me?

So back to the grind stone, have got to get the look book finished this week (actually started would be a great move forward) with only three weeks to go before the launch of our SS 2010 collection it is all manic.

My big fat Greek Wedding!

What does that actually mean?  I presume it comes from the fact that you eat lots at Greek Weddings, well those people have never been to a Chinese Wedding where you eat for 6 hours! Anyway I am preparing for the trip to Athens on a very low budget airline, which after my last trip I do not look forward to. I have had a manic few days I really have, I went to this great net working event in Notting Hill was absolutely super. http://thenextwomen.com check them out. I met so many interesting people. I also decided I want to live in Holland Park, I felt like a midget standing outside those wonderful big front doors. I expected Morticia from the adams family or Alice in Wonderland to open the door. Anyway thank you to them it was a great summers night. So to yesterday, I met with a fashion editor of a magazine  I felt really priviliaged that they wanted to speak to me. They were so nice and I am not sure why I felt so nervous, so I will make you wait to know the name once they confirm what they are going to do.

My thought for the day is very apt, but where is the clock?

You will find the key to success under the alarm clock.
