New York, Las Vegas & San Francisco all in one day

Filed Under (Designer, Fashion, Press) by Anne on 29-11-2010

Well, when izzi told me he was going out of town for a few days, I didn’t pay much attention until he mentioned San Francisco!! I was sitting up and let me tell you I was paying attention. So at 4am I was packed and sitting on the edge of the kitchen bench trying to eat breakfast (Yukkie Doo!) I mean I have to say noone but noone in our house ever wakes me up at 4am. The driver arrived on time as always, so thank you Rennee and off to JFK we went. Now I have to say I have never travelled on Virgin America, but boy it was like being in a disco, there were purple neon lights and pink over head lights, whooa, so if you haven’t ever tried it please do.

The only complaint I had was that they do not feed you on the flight and the snacks they had were all full of Carbs (which you all know by now I have given up in search of thinness!) So we have to make a pit stop at Vegas and izzi says ‘let’s hit the strip! ‘ he has to be kidding I am thinking how are we going to get ‘downtown’ and back in less than 3 hours? Panic not should have been the order of the day as if you have ever been to Vegas you will know the airport is at the end of the famous Las Vegas strip.  So off to the Bellagio we went for lunch. Now I kid you not when I say not only do they have slot machines in the airport they have them in the bathroom ( restroom)! yes they do! and they even have them at the bar. This place is Gambling and beyond, crikey I would be bankrupt if we stayed any longer.

So back to the airport we go and then it is off to San Francisco, one of my fav cities in the whole world. I so love San Francisco I really do and as soon as we arrived I made a reservation at the Stinking Rose where they flavour their garlic with food. It is the most amazing restaurant and if you are ever in San Fran you must go there. We came out knowing that if there were any Vampires on the loose we were going to be safe. People starting crossing the road ahead of us, I think they could smell us!

I took izzi to see the Golden gate Bridge and he was so excited, he had only seen it in the movies, so this was a first for him.

Golden Gate Bridge or is it the izzi bridge?

The next stop was torture for me as we went to the Jelly Belly Bean factory and I was in heaven except I was not allowed to eat any of them, they are not part of this diet. WTH !! I have to say though when noone was looking I slipped a few of their new flavors into my mouth Shush! although some of the flavors I gave a miss like Barf and buggers, I mean you tell me how does anyone know if they taste right and who got the job of making them? gross totally gross.

When we left the factory we saw the very first Christmas Tree of the year and boy what a tree!

We moved on to Los Angeles and stayed in Pasadena, if you have ever been there it is a beautiful place and nothing like LAX. We went out to the Warner Brothers Studios and were invited to have our picture taken on the set of friends do you recognize the sofa?

izzi wanted to buy a car so off we went to look around the showrooms and this is what he picked out, not sure of the delivery date but I think I might have to buy him a black mask for Christmas and change his name to Bruce Wayne!

We had a fantastic trip, we met some incredible people, but I have to say I was glad to be back in my own bed and in the city I love just in time for Thanksgiving. New York, New York so good they named it twice.

So how many people get to say that they ate breakfast in New York, Lunch in Las Vegas and dinner in San Francisco? well I am one of them and I am such a lucky, lucky girl and I can’t wait for the next adventure.

ACE Awards 2010

This has certainly been a week, last night I was invited by the Accessories Council of New York to attend the ACE Awards for 2010 and I was in such great company, from Tiffanys & Co to Cole Haan and Macy’s. The stars in the fashion world came out to play. I spent all day with my Glam Squad, aka Gregg Hubbard the famous New York Make up artist to stars such as Tory Burch and the Celebrity Apprentice. and my hairdresser Monique came to give me the best blow out ever.

Wearing Judith Leiber

Wearing Judith Leiber

I was totally honored to be wearing a very expensive piece of jewelry by Judith Leiber, who very kindly loaned me the necklace in the picture. The event was held at Cipriani’s on 42nd Street, believe it or not this used to be the home of a bank. It is a really stunning venue I have to say I so love going there, my only drawback is that the Internet service is limited. The food was super, I had scallops with asparagus followed by lamb cutlets which were like butter. I gave the desert a miss as I am not keen on Lemon meringue pie so I saved myself for the Godiva chocolates.

Before the awards ceremony started I was lucky enough to be photographed with a super guy, Kanye West, I have to say in all honesty that he was really a kind and gentle man, I may be a bit bias as he said I looked beautiful. When he accepted his award he spoke from the heart accepted that he was not perfect ,that he had made some mistakes but that he was just a regular guy. I would not agree, he is a very special person and deserved the award for Style.

I also met Maria Sharapova, who I would like to say forgot to smile in this picture, I guess that is her prerogative, so let’s just say she is very tall !

Everybody went home with a goodie bag full of luxurious things, I was totally exhausted so when I finally managed to find my driver, I threw off my Gianfranco Ferre shoes in the car, snuggled on the warm back seat until I got home to my lovely izzi. I am hoping that the parties this week are at an end and I now look forward to a quiet evening at home in my PJ’s…. oh except tomorrow as it is my wedding anniversary…. Get Gregg on the phone…

Heidi Klum & Seals famous Halloween Party at LAVO

Filed Under (Designer, Fashion, Press) by Anne on 01-11-2010

Halloween in New York I am not sure what to say, it was a complete blast. Izzi and I spent much of Saturday looking for an outfit to wear and I decided that as it was going to be pretty cold outside I did not want to wear something that was going to freeze me to death! So I picked the Vampire look and izzi well that is another story, take a look at this!

So after a couple of glasses of Champagne we set off to 230 on Fifth, which turned into a complete disaster as our friends got stuck at another party and so we headed over to them. We spent a couple of hours drinking voddies, singing Karaoke and eating sliders, Matt I am not sure that as a vicar you should have been participating in this but hey ho!
