Art Hearts Fashion and so do I

The last show at #NWFW was the Art Heart Fashion show and boy what a way to finish the season… The Art Hearts Fashion presentations are in support of a great cause. Established in 2011 by designer and philanthropist Erik Rosete it has become a platform for designers to showcase their collections in a contemporary runway setting. The show was presented by AIDS Healthcare Foundation and I was proud to be there seated in the second row with my girlfriend Sony Loren.

Let The Show begin:

The boys came out in full force and I have never witnessed anything like it…. The designers: Mister Triple X, Walter Mendez, Li Jon, Mimi, Hallie Sara, HBO, MT Costello showed their collections and my highlights are……Excuse the picture…

Wearing only a coat?

Wearing only a coat?

I am not sure if this is shock factor or if you could see your man going out in just a coat…..not really hiding much but you definitely would need a six pack to wear this!

But some of the collections were just fabulous and seeing the up and coming designers with amazing talent. I was really proud to see the Furs! not many exotic fabrics like fur designers are brave enough to show! But the classy look was something I would wear for sure and really captivated me.

I loved the use of medieval chain mail…. inspiration for Li Jon came from jewelry designs and she began the ambitious intense process of teaching herself a forgotten craft…How cool are these designs ?

Walter Mendez has a great eye for texture, silhouettes and timeless style. Lots of Celebs have worn his designs and he was awarded ‘designer of the year’ by World Networks, a well deserved award.

I really wanted to put my money down on a couple of these dresses, the Red and black long elegant dress made my heart sing out. I could see myself wearing it to a ‘Black Tie’ event and know that every head in the room would turn to see this dress…. The gold chain head dress maybe not so much! ’50 Shades Of Grey’ came to mind! The wedding dress, well that’s another story, completely see through and I would lock my daughter up if she had selected that for her special day! However, I realize everyone has a style and who am I to say who or who should not wear a dress like that to a wedding!

Pure and utter elegance!

Of course no Fashion week is complete without me saying “Roll on September” I can’t really say I got into Winter 2015 when I really need to think about Spring and Summer 2015!! I am now packing up my house and moving back to London in the next few days and I really am looking forward to the next journey of life and the adventure I have before me. My youngest son is getting married this year in the summer and I long for that day, hats, high heels and bags yet to be found for the occasion. I am busily searching for a new home, funny that I have turned around from looking at new builds to finding a project to get my teeth into and redesigning my new home. I remember how much fun I had with the house in New York which was a derelict mess when I bought it, but now is a beautiful home that I am proud of. I want to finish this blog post by thanking Dr Shellie Hipsky and Dr Judy Staveley for featuring me as one of the Top 13 #EmpoweringWomen I am very honored and humbled. I can’t wait to see the article in Platform Magazine. I spend my life trying to inspire other women and I know that through all the trials and tribulations I have dealt with in my life, that finding your dream is timeless. I know that everyday we are here is a blessing and we should not waste one moment of it on trivia, but concentrate on making your place in life a ‘Happy Place’.

Please stay with me as I find the next road in my life and follow yet another dream I have, to finish writing my book.
